Considered an archaeological site, it has been the object of several studies. One of the teams, made up of researchers from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Ufes) and coordinated by the anthropologist Celso Perota, found 11 skeletons of men who lived approximately 4,500 years ago. El Vía Crucis del Horno Grande es un evento tradicional en el municipio.
El evento atrae a unas 3.000 personas de varias ciudades del estado, recorriendo un trayecto de aproximadamente 8 km de mucha fe, oración y espiritualidad.
Inicia, en el patio de la Iglesia local de la comunidad de Horno Grande, hasta la cima del cerro llamado Graças a Dios.
