Vargem Alta has waterfalls, colonial buildings, trails, extreme sport and a strong production of local sweets, liqueurs, cachaças, and biscuits among other typical delicatessen. The city is also known for its handicraft and for the Alto do Formoso Belvedere that is placed about 1000m high and allows visitors to glimpse an breath-taking view of the region. Vargem Alta is also excellent for the practice of hang-gliding and para-gliding due to its rugged terrain: there are instructors and infra-structure for the practice of these modalities in the city. Besides, the city also hosts good structure of hotels and restaurants.

How to get there

Take BR-262 Road and on the 94th km turn the left on ES-164 Road. It will be 31 km until Vargem Alta.
