The county, which is internationally recognized as a paradise for adventure lovers, because of its privileged relief for trails and mountaineering and also for aerial sports such as paragliding flights, is now officially the “State Capital of Adventure Sports “. This recognition became Law # 10.902 / 18, sanctioned by Governor Paulo Hartung, on the morning of Tuesday, October 9.
To celebrate this title, between October 19 and 21, Castelo will be the stage of the 11th edition of the “Open Castle” and the “Capixaba Free Flying Championship”, in the “Rampa de Ubá”, known for lovers of sports adventure for its beauty and perfect flight conditions.
“We are an international reference in adventure sports. Our natural beauties enchant and attract sportsmen from various parts of Brazil and the world. Castle offers a great geographical diversity that provides the practice of various modalities such as free flight, base jump, climbing, trails, off road, mountain bike, among others. Congratulations Castle for this great achievement, “commented the Municipal Sports Secretary, Dyorgines Padovani de Andrade.
The recognition of Castelo by the Government of the State of Espírito Santo as the “Capital of Adventure Sports” is due to the favorable scenario and movements of each sports segment:
The Free Flying Ramps of “Apeninos”, “Alto Chapéu” and “Ubá”, where five international championships were held, seven national championships, several stages of the Capixaba championship and numerous encounters and floats.
Jump Base Peaks “Pedra da Onça” and “Pedra do Cabrito”, where the competitions bring together the best jumpers in the world (since 2013).
Mountain Bike: The Mountain Bike, for the events promoted inside the municipality, with the participation of cyclists from several neighboring states.
Climbing: The Scale is highlighted in the “Apennine” and “Furlan” Cliffs, where state events take place annually.
Off Road: On Off Road, Castelo receives the biggest follow-up event, the traditional “Jeep Capixaba Festival” – FecaJeep, in addition to the “Gaiola Capixaba” and “Castelo Baja Clube” meetings.
