State historic heritage, the cave is the most important area of studies on the prehistory of Espírito Santo, with vestiges of human presence that date back more than 5000 years. The place has different geological characteristics due to the peculiarity of the shape of the speleothems. In its interior it is possible to find diverse formations originated by the solidification of the water over thousands of years. The most common are curtains, stalactites, stalagmites and travertines.
